Homebrew Archangel Species Details
The highest rank of angel known to man. Originally created to serve the one true Lord and command Heaven's armies, these creatures are Heaven's fiercest weapons. They have extreme loyalty, but whether that is to their creator or their own idols is up to them. In terms of appearance, they do not have a mortal form but a celestial wavelength of intent. In their celestial form, they can become a variety of entities such as blinding white light, six winged multifaced beasts, interlocking wheels with eyes, or as humans with a pair of feathered wings. To communicate with the mortals on Earth, they often seek out a willing vessel. This vessel must consent to being possessed, but can be tricked by deviant angels. Human's are the most often used vessels, however, angels have been known to possess a variety of different races, such as elves, dwarves, and dragonborn. When they die, a blueish white light leave's their vessel's body and a pair of charred wings are left behind with their used vessel's corpse, though it is extremely difficult to kill an angel, let alone an archangel, as they can leave their vessel at any time. The inhabitant of the vessel and the angel are not always linked in death, but if the inhabitant's soul dies, the angel can still control the vessel. Usually the soul dies when something happens to the body that is typically fatal and makes the vessel uninhabitable, such as slitting a jugular artery or decapitation. This doesn't necessarily kill the angel, but will slow it down because it needs to heal its physically damaged vessel or find a new one. To kill an archangel, one must use a powerful magic / celestial weapon or they must be killed by a more powerful being, such as another archangel, celestial being, major gods, extremely skilled magic users (via permanent binding), and the Creator.
Archangel Traits
Archangels are highly prejudiced towards other non-celestial beings. Often proud, self-important, non-remorseful, determined, manipulative, intelligent, persistent, and fearless, they are skilled warriors who will work relentlessly to achieve their goals. Despite their callousness, they have a soft spot for their angel siblings and will try to avoid conflict with them. The Creator (God) made them, and they originate and reside in Heaven, but with visit other realms such as Earth, Hell, and Purgatory.Teleport
Archangels can teleport anywhere on Earth; however, the distance is limited to roughly a mile. Between rests, you can teleport at total of 5300 feet. So, if an angel teleports 2650 feet, they can teleport back and have 0 feet left after their trip, effectively only being able to teleport twice. However, if they teleport only 10 feet at a time, they can technically teleport a total of 530 times. Can also teleport a weaker being or object within its sphere of influence (within melee range).

Divine Smite
Doesn't require concentration to cast. Divine Smite is a paladin ability that allows you to spend a first level spell slot to deal an extra 2d8 radiant damage on a successful hit. Spell slots of higher-level deal an additional 1d8 radiant per level above first to a maximum of 5d8. In addition, divine smite deals another 1d8 radiant to undead and fiends. Divine Smite is that you don't have to commit to using it until after you've learned that your attack is a success, unlike every other smite option on this list. You can also combine divine smite into the same strike as your other smites. Does half damage to other celestial beings, but does 1 1/2 times more damage to demons, devils, and tieflings.
Flight
Can fly as long as wings are not broken.
Wings
Although not physical, these wings can be harmed by magic/celestial damage to the angel. Are used to fly when teleportation is not an option.
