Homebrew Axomi Species Details

Swimming through the powerful seas, Axomi are powerful aquatic beings.

Semi-aquatic Amphibians

Axomi appear as large, humanoid axolotls, capable of walking on land and swimming in water. They tend to have pink skin, with a thin layer of slime. They also have 6 total sensors on the sides of their heads, 3 per side. Axomi have long, thick tails that they use to propel themselves through the water. They tend to be from 4 ft to nearly six feet in height, with three fingers and a thumb on each hand, with three toes. Axomi can breathe underwater, and tend to hatch there too, as their species lays eggs. They have retractable carnivore teeth, used only for defense or eating meat.

Close-knit Communities

All Axomi have a very high social drive, and many desire to be in the company of many beings. This has led to large gatherings and clans being created in the oceans around Owren. Axomi, while not extremely close to their blood family, treat the entire community as their family, all caring for each other with a close fierceness. Axomi tend to share a very close bond with one to three other Axomi, often being partners with each other.

Axomi communicate underwater by flashing the sections of their sensor fins in different orders and patterns.

It is rare for an Axomi to leave the clan, however Axomi do not berate those who do. Axomi prioritize freedom and kindness over social pressures, and as such will not attempt to stop the Axomi from leaving.

When an Axomi (or member of friend group) dies, regardless of whether they were a stranger or not, the entire clan holds a funeral, wrapping the body in kelp before sending it into a strong current. If they were an enemy, they participate in a very brutal feast, eating the invader with haste.

Axomi Names

Axomi have names based of of things from the ocean, or water in general. Axomi have no regard for gender and do not have gendered names.
