Homebrew Child of the Wilderness Species Details
Not from around
Children of the wilderness originate from The Beastlands and are most often found there. They also sometimes make their home in the Feywild, but rarely anyone has ever seen a child of the wilderness in the material plane. Used to the harsh treatment of nature they learned to rely on their primal instincts. But they don't see their lives as dangerous, for them it is excitement. The thrill of living in moments of life and death decisions.
One with nature
Children of the wild would also rather live their whole lives alone than to ever step foot into a city or even a building for that matter. Because they spend their life away from society, they have little use for the associated systems: money, trade, wealth, laws mean nothing to them and as such they don't understand the people who try to deceive those systems. However, the children of the wilderness are not stupid. They are just as smart as any person could be, but they rather focus on things which are more important for them: food, nature and survival.

Languages
You can communicate with Beasts through your body language. You can exchange basic and simple thoughts with a Beast that can see you. Normally children of the wilderness do not speak a real language. They communicate through body language and a few sounds with their tribes, but you can always argue with your DM that your wild-child once met a few explorers, which taught them a few words of common language.
