Homebrew Amalgam Species Details
The Amalgam is a beast created to serve. They usually retain a mix of memories from their past lives, which frustrates them as they struggle to put together a coherent narrative for their past. Amalgams are beastly single minded creatures who can take on any challenge they were created for with a terrifying level of efficiency.
The perfect slave
Created for labor, Amalgams pull from an often vast well of knowledge due to their past lives. This mentality means they can easily become bored. This boredom turns them to artistic endeavors such as painting, writing, or reading which they spent hours on. These works have a varying rate of success due to their uniquely dreary and grey presentation
Amalgams are bound by the enchanted bolts on their neck, if removed they become independent. An independent Amalgam can be extremely dangerous as they retain all their power but commonly develop an incredible single minded hatred for who ever made them.
Deathly visage
Amalgams are nothing if not unsightly. Stitches and rot line their bodies and they can find themselves bleeding randomly. As they are manufactured rather than born they can have brass mechanisms such as clocks or pipes sticking out of their skin. The smell of an amalgam is that of a warm corpse. As they are electrically powered they maintain some spark of life that often shows in their tired eyes. However the dead-ness of these beasts isn't perfectly reflected in their clothing, as they dress themselves in a mixture of fabrics and styles from their many memories.
Amalgam names
Most Amalgams retain their life name, if they can remember it. But a given name for them is usually just a nickname based on their task or perhaps even an inside joke.
