Homebrew Bog Giant Species Details
In the iron bogs nestled in the north of the island, the bog giants were peaceful metalworking vegetarians util they were all accidentally swallowed up in their own bogs which had suddenly turned to quicksand. Only one mighty priest, Mum-Dar. He dedicated himself to the study of necromancy, and eventually became an immortal mummy. Later, Mum-Dar performed the great ritual of rebirth, raising his kin from the bogs as mummies. Many call these beings the Sunken Kings. Over time some of the bunbarians visit and begin worshipping these giant mummies, and they form new communities of worship around them. Little other than these Bog Bunnies live in the iron bogs. The realm remains isolated from the other civilizations, and Mum-Dar the King of Kings rules them in an iron-willed peace.
Canopic Jars
Mum-Dar the King of Kings created magical pots to anchor the powerful necromantic magics of the Ritual of Rebirth. Each bog giant's heart was magically transported to one of these vessels upon completion of the ritual. These jars are essential to preserving the life forces of the bog giants, and they can only find sleep and recuperation within ten feet of these artifacts. Most canopic jars remain hidden and secure within the palace of Mum-Dar the King of Kings, which ensures that his subjects remain loyal should any stray from their generally docile predelictions.
