Homebrew Dentus Species Details
Denti are a strange race of creatures with a skin comprised entirely of teeth. [something about fluorite]
Dentus Traits
Denti are chillDental Magic
Denti spellcaster's lack inherent magical ability, instead they are able to make use of the dental magic contained within teeth to cast spells.
Regardless of class traits this character has no spell slots. To cast a known spell, a certain amount of tooth dust (decided by the DM) must be expended proportional to the level of the spell cast. Tooth dust can be crafted using teeth with a mortar and pestle.
Enamel Armor
Your body is composed of teeth that provide a durable armor. In order to maintain the integrity of this armor you must regularly consume foods high in calcium
The armor provides a base AC of 17, though this value can range between 13 and 17.
The following effects cause the base AC granted to decrease by 1 (minimum of 13)
- Taking a long or short rest
- Taking acid or necrotic damage.
- Consuming or being covered by foods and beverages high in sugar (e.g. honey, cake, mead)
The following effects cause the base AC granted to increase by 1 (maximum of 17)
- Consuming a source of calcium (e.g. glass of milk, stick of butter, block of cheese)
Due to the thermoprotective and insulating nature of this material, you gain resistance to fire lightning damage.
However this comes at the cost of vulnerability to acid and necrotic damage.
Extract Teeth
Denti are very capable at extracting teeth from creatures, both living and dead.
As a bonus action you may extract teeth from a creature of your choice within 5ft, this effect varies depending on whether the creature is alive or dead.
If the creature is alive: Extract Teeth deals 1 bludgeoning damage. A single tooth is removed from the creature and placed in your inventory.
If the creature is dead: Extract Teeth removes all teeth present in the creatures mouth, these are placed into your inventory.
The Tooth, The Whole Tooth, And Nothing But The Tooth
You gain advantage on all checks made against a creature if an intact tooth originating from that specific creature is present in your inventory.
Furthermore if the creature is humanoid, they cannot knowingly speak a lie when in your presence, if such a lie would have been heard and understood by you.
