Homebrew Dobbykin Species Details

Dobbykin are commonly called House Elves, though they are barely related to the Elven race. Most Dobbykin live to be 200 years old, and often live their whole lives indentured to a master for whom they watch the household and handle all menial chores and tasks. The keeping of Dobbykin is an act despised by most dwarves, elves, gnomes, and halflings. Other races do not feel so strongly, though only the oldest families are powerful or wealthy enough to inherit or acquire a Dobbykin.

Dobbykin adventurers have either been freed by their masters, allowing them to pursue their own interests, or they have been ordered by their master to undertake a quest. If the latter is the case, the Dobbykin are at a disadvantage because they are not allowed to wear proper clothes until they have been freed. A Dobbykin can only be freed by their master, and disobedience is always punished, if not by the master, than by the offending Dobbykin itself.

Dobbykin Traits

Dobbykin are often despised for their helpless, groveling behavior that they have developed over millenia of servitude. They are extremely intelligent and nimble. Even the most average Dobbykin are able to rush around the largest of mansions and have it faultlessly clean within a day.
