Homebrew Cyclops Species Details

History

Each, and every cyclops originated from 3, hulking triplets, each standing at over 30 feet tall, direct spawn of the earth mother herself, born from the union of land and sky, these massive, single-eyed beasts, along with their younger siblings the Hecatoncheires, were forcibly dragged, and locked, and trapped away within Tartarus, being forced to forge, and to become blacksmiths for their own survival, the Origin Triplets(Trídyma proélefsis) became the ultimate blacksmiths, forging their bodies to gain resistance to the heats which they forged with, and inventing the weapons of the gods, the Lightning Bolt of the Thunder King, the Trident of the Sea God, and the Crown of the King of the Damned, and using these weapons, the gods overthrew their parents, the youngest siblings of the Cyclopes and the Hecatoncheires, the titans, allowing them freedom unto the world above.

Having been born into a world of conflict, and a primal world of war, the Cyclopes adapted, growing to be far smaller targets as opposed to their ancestors, and even to have become more agile, able to naturally live off the land.  Living in small, tribal villages, the cyclopes always had the essentials, preferring to live in forests, and woodlands over the big, bustling cities of other races.  In these woodlands, they learned to hunt, adapting to the dietary requirements of their musculature, as well as the limitations of their surroundings, these carnivorous hulks became the perfect predators, bones becoming denser, and powerful, replacing the calcium within with Jet Lignite, they became far tougher than any human could wish to be, these hulks learned to enjoy, and even to worship the fine arts of combat.

Society

These one-eyed goliaths seem to hold their eye in great cultural significance, viewing damage to it as the highest of utmost disrespect, worthy of a duel to the death, more than accurately... They view it as a challenge, and it invokes an instinctive, barbarian-like rage within them when someone brings damage to their eye. Despite the practical worship of their eyes, the "gods" they truly worship, are the Trídyma proélefsis, as well as their very own Earthen Mother, viewing them as on the same playing field as those they once made weapons for. And in their worship of the Trídyma proélefsis, they have mastered the art of the forge, having now natural expertise over the tools of the blacksmith, they are taught from a very young age how to make their own weaponry and armors.

Despite their pacifistic relations with other races, these are actually quite a violent people, each, and every tribal village has at least 2 separate gladiatorial fighting pits, used for the fun of the fight, and for the thrill of combat, not only is fighting out your differences accepted by this people, but it's highly encouraged, viewing violence as a simple way of life, rather than an end to a means. Surprisingly enough, this violent lifestyle has kept them mostly free of war, allowing them to simply co-exist with one another, and when problems arise... They duke it out, and the winner of the group gets to choose the rule. Due to their violent nature, they have a lack of what other races would consider formal attire, the greatest showing of respect they can show in terms of attire is wearing their most fanciful, ornate, yet functional sets of armor, along with bringing their prettiest weaponry along their side.
