Homebrew Cephalotus Fey Species Details

 A subset of Fey that are Partially plants, and have multiple tentacles, the Cephalotus Fey Are a race that enjoys basking in the sunlight, as well as hiding and jumping out at creatures.  The use their sweet scent to lure things in, occasionally trapping things in their tentacles for the fun of it, and occasionally eating the smaller creatures , such as rabbits, squirrels, or other such creatures.

Infused with the magic of the Feywild, Cephalotus Fey share a few commonalities with one another but can differ widely in appearance, behavior, and attitude. While most Cephalotus Fey share the similarities of having tentacles for legs, having flower pod like hands with 3-5 tentacles per hand that act like fingers inside, many Cephalotus Fey have different physical characteristics, such as different colourations, having more leg tentacles or less, having small fangs, having ears like an elf, and more. 

   Names:

Cephalotus Fey Take on new names on as little as a whim, but keep their true names always hidden from others. A Cephalotus Fey's True name can be anything the player chooses, but some examples are as follows:
Male: Crevenex, Seraphelus, Pixeri, Falamin
Female: Lunaria, Serendili, Belelay, Falchise 

  Society:

 Cephalotus Fey usually make their homes in the Feywild, sometimes forming social groups, but usually live in small groupings called an ensemble, usually 5 Cephalotus Fey at most, which then will interact with other ensembles in times of need or distress, such as when food is lacking in their home area, or when they have come under attack. 

 Origins: 

Cephalotus Fey where originally simple plant seeds, that where planted inside of a tentacle monster's tentacle (some say it was a roper's, some say a Otyugh's, none know for sure) brought back form somewhere, placed in the ground by a high ranking fey for fun, to see what would happen to the seed. The seed started growing, and thanks to magic and luck, the seeds grew into the race known as the Cephalotus Fey.

  Grudge Holders:

Cephalotus Fey are notorious for holding grudges, some lasting for centuries. Many are known to bring people who have slighted them to bodies of water and drown them, or to Burry them alive.

Cephalotus Fey do not have a definitive lifespans, theoretically living forever if outside forces do not kill them, such as disease and illness or violence. They are considered adults at age 20, when they stop physically growing/maturing

Tentacles

As a bonus action, you can grasp things with a tentacle. It has a reach of 5 feet, and it can lift a number of pounds equal to five times your Strength score. You can use it to do the following simple tasks: lift, drop, hold, push, or pull an object or a creature; open or close a door or a container; grapple someone; or make an unarmed strike. Your DM might allow other simple tasks to be added to that list of options.
your tentacle can't wield weapons or shields or do anything that requires manual precision, such as using tools or magic items or performing the somatic components of a spell.
