Homebrew Bhroc Species Details

When the lunar goddess crashed into the world a great deal of raw energy was released. More often than not this energy landed harmlessly within the oceans but on occasion fell on the land. One such landing was on the uninhabited (by humanoids) lands north of Valkasia, the energy seeped into the ground causing plants to grow rapidly, trees absorbing it through their roots quickly doubled in size, root vegetables that could before barely feed one of the islands badger inhabitants could now feed a full family or sometimes a whole cete. This energy was absorbed by the badgers and slowly, over the next 100 years changed them. Where before the Badgers would walk on 4 paws, they started to stand on two, their physiology rapidly changing from one generation to the next. Soon their front appendages, no longer needed for walking became clawed hands, what would normally take thousands of years was accomplished in a mere century. Before long communication ceased to be via barks and grunts and the newly formed humanoids developed their own language, calling themselves the Bhroc they ventured out into their new world, occasionally as individuals, more often though in clans, cetes as they call them, settling throughout the wilds of Estoria where they live in relative peace

Bhroc Traits

Your Bhroc character has the following racial traits.

Ability Score Increase

Your Wisdom score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Age

Bhroc physically mature slightly faster than humans being classed as adults at 12 and leaving home at 14, they live about 60 years.

Size

Bhroc stand between 4 and 4.5 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Natural Armor

You have a thick hide. When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Dex modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.

Vicious bite

Jaws made for chewing roots and nuts also give a nasty bite.

As a bonus action you can perform a bite attack dealing 1d8 + strength modifier damage

Nature's bond

Bhroc have a strong bond with nature able to make flowers blossom at will.

You have the Druid craft cantrip.

You can speak, read, and write Common and Loxodon.
