Homebrew Aquuarin Species Details

Aquuarin, an aquatic species found in shallow waters usually around large quantities of coral and other sea life. Though most prefer to dwell in the ocean and seas there are some land dwelling tribes. These creatures are believed to be descendants of the great leviathans from long ago. They are swift on both water and land but lack abilities such as climbing and burrowing. The Aquuarin tend to keep to themselves but have been known to allow other members of different tribes and species stay in their homes for safety. They tend to use their proficiencies in water magic to make a sphere of water around their heads due to when they are out of water they have tainted vision and hearing. This water sphere is able to be kept in place by a mystical oceanstone that if removed also removes the water sphere, they usually have it fused to their armor, as an earring, necklace, bracelet, and more vanity clothing. The Aquuarin are also very rare on land, while in the water they are safe and have a better environment for their magic and lifestyle on land they do not have such luxury and only leave their water homes if they are in danger of attack or in danger of famine. If you see a tribe, treat them with peace and kindness, bring down their guard and show them they are able to trust you. 

While the origins of how Aquuarin came to be are unknown like most other races they do have their own idea. By most of them worshipping the last leviathan as a being who brought them here, though none have ever seen this creature they still see it as a deity. In the water troves of the Ocean Aquuarin there may be statues, paintings, and carving of this divine entity. A lot of the Ocean Aquuarin are healers and mages and that allows for them to be able to postpone a devastation on their civilization. But, their numbers come in few with each existing tribe.

The Land Aquuarin usually do not have much worshipping of the great leviathan and prefer to keep it that way, most of the worshipping utensils such as the paintings and statues are usually kept somewhere safe. The way that they tend to show their praise is by releasing some of their harvest and hunt into the ocean, while others do not worship at all believing that they have been punished by the great leviathan for no discernable reason and therefore see no need to praise such a malevolent being. These Aquuarins are mostly druids and fighters, but some have been known to yield weapons and these Aquuarins tend to be more aggresive because of these reasonings.
