Homebrew Avian Species Details

The Avians are a race of good hearted, highly religious, but flightless, bird folk. They build and defend colossal stone temples, deticated to their god, Kluex, the "Winged God of the Aether". They are lead by their priests, known as Stargazers, as they believe that the stars are the eyes of Kluex, watching over everything. The Stargazers are the only miners of Avolite Crystals. They guard their temples fiercely, with highly trained warriors, lasers powered by the Avolite Crystals, and holes in the floor concealed by darkness. All Avians are trained to guard their temples, but only the best actually do so.

Avian Traits

Your Avian character has the following traits.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Avian Weapon Training

You have proficiency with the greatsword, longsword, and shortbow.

Brave

You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Kluex's Blessing

When you roll for an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw, you can choose to add 1d4 to the roll. You can choose to do this before or after the roll, but before getting the results. After you use this feature, you can't do it again until you finish a short or long rest. Additionally, you have advantage on saving throws against poison and disease.
