Homebrew Darkfien Species Details

Darkfiens are elvish like creatures with darkened purple like complexion, virtually nothing is known about their culture and people to outsiders, much like the dwarves, they keep very much to themselves, but unlike the dwarves they are not looked on kindly by the Humans of Éirú, they are seen as deceitful and trickster like creatures, too close to the ancient fae enemies as they are known practisers of such types of magic. This has led to a great amount of conflict and skirmishes between the two races.

 

Darkfiens do not fear the lands inhabited by the creatures of the fae, seeing their powers as a tool to use like any other, one that can be controlled and not needing to be feared. They believe the darkness is not simply just the absence of light, it is its own world , full of creatures of beauty and magic. But as they are the pioneers of such ways and magic, corruption is a relatively common occurrence, which has not helped their people's reputation with others. Humans have been trying to find their homeland for many years to no avail , but Darkfiens have sent emissaries to the humans in an attempt to create more understanding between the two races, but not allowing humans to send their own to their homeland just increased further distrust. An incredibly small population of Darkfiens have found their way into the lower grounds of Éirú to settle, fleeing accidental corruption that failed to be contained within their own society as they attempted to further their understanding of the fae. Only by the tenants of the Maiden of Hearth do the humans allow them to stay in their kingdom, but on close watch, which has led to some unsavory humans being less than accommodating to them.

Embrace the Dark

Once per long rest you can, as an action, create a 20ft radius sphere of shadow on yourself or another creature or item you can see within 60ft. No non magical light can penetrate it
