Homebrew Bofu Species Details

The Bofu are toad or frog like humanoids, coming from the swamps of Natura, primarily. Tend to be fishermen and farmers (they grow food to feed livestock). Quiet and Reserved, they have a strong martial history as well, as a community they tend to come together and strike back against monsters or rival groups. 

ASIs: +2 Dex, +1 Str.

Size: Small. Bofu reach adulthood around 3 feet tall but continue to grow into their life, the largest of whom will reach around 5 ft. 

Languages: Common and Bufo.

Age: Bofu have shorter lifespans than humans, reaching adulthood around 12 and living until about 65 years old. 

Bofu Traits

Bufo have frog or toad biology granting them abilities like their much smaller cousins.

Amphibious

You are adapted to life in wetlands. You have a swimming speed of 25 feet. You can breath air and water. 

Toad-tongue

Your long tongue can be used as a natural weapon, used to make unarmed strikes with a range of 15 ft. On a hit, you deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + Strength modifier. Immediately after hitting, you can attempt to grapple the target as a bonus action. You may also communicate simple ideas to frogs and toads. 

Sticky Pads

The tips of your fingers have sticky pads on them, granting you advantage on checks made to hold onto items, such as grapple checks. They also grant a climbing speed of 25 ft. 

Camoflage

Your green skin grants you advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in swampy terrain and/or thick foliage.
