Homebrew Avano Species Details

Fabled to be a gift from Alabax himself, the Avano are found scattered throughout Valoria, though most hail from Qas and the surrounding regions. While they are as diverse as any other group, the Avano tend to find themselves on the taller side, with some standing well over six feet. This, however, is quickly overshadowed by their defining feature: the pair of raven wings sprouting from between their shoulder blades.

All Avano are born with their wings, though few are able to do more than hover a few inches from the ground before the age of six or seven. It is rare that an Avano will be expressly taught flight, as most see learning on ones own as a right of passage.

Whether working the fields of the countryside or studying in the capital, the Avano have an innate knack for tinkering. While this results in some spending their free time inventing small toys and trinkets, others put their skills to more large-scale use, pushing the boundaries of the firearm technology Qas is so known for.

Due to their connection to Alabax, the Avano are able to minorly manipulate the forces of death, allowing them to halt the progression of those around them to the realms beyond. This, combined with their flight, make the Avano formidable opponents on the battlefield, especially when paired with others of their kind.
