Dracozons: The Amazons of the Sky

The Rundown

Dracozons are a race descendent from dragonborns. They are the result of an ancient magical cross between an amazon and a dragon and they feature a combination of abilities from each type of ancestor. They lack breath weapons, but have a tail and wings. They are slow, but hardy. Just like their amazonian ancestors, all dracozons are females. They are medium sized humanoids and are similar in height and weight to dragonborns. Dracozons have a lifespan comparable to that of an elf.

Body Shape and its Meaning

Each dracozon bears a set of dragon wings and a scaled dragon tail; exceptionally powerful individuals may rarely have an extra pair of wings and/or more than one tail. All dracozons are born with at least two dragon horns — one above each of their temples — but the specific number of horns that they sport varies between racial members. In dracozonian culture, a higher number of horns typically indicates a higher potential for power and status; in reality, however, the number of horns a member has has little to no actual effect on capabilities and is determined randomly at the time of conception by genetically-weighted chance.

Colorful Skin & Scales

As a result of being part-amazon, the core of a dracozon's body greatly resembles that of a human's. Dracozonian skin is mostly smooth, soft, and human-like, but there is coarse, tender dragon skin on each of their wings and on the underside(s) of their tail(s). Their skin color is diverse; some dracozons may have human skin shades, while others may have colored skin like tieflings. There is much variety in dracozonian skin color and no one color predominates as a majority. Some dracozons may have patches or swathes of dragon scales scattered across certain places on their body. These scales may be found on their back, the front of their legs, and/or the posterior sides of their arms. Although dracozonian skin color is diverse, their scales are always the color that matches their draconic bloodline.

Religious Expression & Sexuality

Dracozons are incapable of sexual reproduction and are not sexually inclined by nature. Instead, they reproduce as a result of religiously-bestowed pregnancies gifted to them by a deity that considers them worthy. Because of this, nearly all dracozons are deeply connected to at least one deity. Religious womb tattoos are common in dracozonian society, as they are thought to help improve one's worthiness for "the gift" by showing their willingness to receive it and a strong dedication to their deity.

Age

Compared to human females, adolescent dracozons age 1.5 times as fast, while adults age 0.5 times as fast. Their aging process caps upon reaching a condition similar to that of an average 45-year-old human female. They have a lifespan comparable to that of an elf, at about 750 years.

Size

Dracozons are similar in height and weight to dragonborns. They are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Although they are strong because of it, dracozons suffer from their great size and weight. Your base walking speed is 20 feet.

Flight

You have a flying speed of 40 feet. Thanks to dracozonian robustness, this speed is compatible with any type of apparel, so long as it does not restrict the wings.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.

Alignment

Dracozons tend to extremes, making a conscious choice for one side or the other in the cosmic war between good and evil (represented by Bahamut and Tiamat, respectively). Most dracozons are good, but those who side with Tiamat can be terrible villains.
