Homebrew Dimidium Species Details

The dimidium are descendants of a celestial race that had built a reputation for being exceedingly arrogate and rambunctious, often meddling in others affairs out of sheer entertainment. They believed that there was no point to a life ruled by laws and regulations, these were but feeble self made restraints lesser races placed on themselves. So they sought to bend and tease the laws and rules of any civilization near their homes in an attempt to, in their own minds, free the poor races of their fears and concerns, to live a happier life.

Unfortunately this lead to the Paradigm of Law  taking these actions personally, and after centuries of this behavior he cursed the race, making it what it is today. This was the first recorded Act of a Paradigm on this scale. The race was cursed to bare only half its original form and half of another. This prevents them from ever utilizing the physical advantages they one had over the other humanoid races, as well as forces a innate kindship with the race their other half resembles so that they are cursed to always feel compelled to honor these ways of life. A dimidium has one half the body of the original celetial form (light skinned human in appearance with silky flowing hair of any color, and one feathery wing of blue and gold), and the other half is that of any other humanoid race (the overall height of the individual is dictated by this half, they will be small if half gnome or halfling , medium sized as appropriate).

This lead to the second recorded Act, The Paradigm of Chaos claimed the distorted race as her own, giving them the name Dimidium and removing all knowledge of what they were before receiving this new name from all history and memory, including the other Paradigms. Now they often are found in small towns or groups in areas where lay lines connect and wild magic runs wild. Areas where other races would fear for their safety and the very concept of control and law are rebuked by nature itself.  Many of them respect the Paradigm of chaos as the closest thing to a leader or ruler they will ever  acknowledge.

Dimidium are not evil and dont seek ill on the other races, only wish to dismantle the ideas of rules and laws. As such they are often carefully watched when they appear in cities or towns, often being arrested on sight. Depending on the disposition of the individual and the city in question their reception varies heavily.
