Homebrew Araphanithid Species Details

The Araphanithid are a old race a spider like humanoids who evolved from a magic curse bestowed to a tribe of Fey descendant humans.  Ever since it was bestowed, this tribe of people have slowly become more spider like and seem to keep changing. Originally thought of as a pain, or a plague of some sort, the Araphanithid have learned to use this curse to their advantage.

In their waterfall mountain of Taliek'Tor within the Underdark, they are feared and people who enter don't often leave. They are skilled fishers and hunters, and surprisingly are quite technologically advanced, using their surroundings, such as metals, gems, and animals to benefit their society. They don't often interact with other species, but if the person who enters has something to trade, they will trade various resources.They have six arms, which the lower two are the weakest, and poisonous blood which can be used to make more powerful poisons, and are capable of producing webs through their mouths, allowing them to be extremely versatile in skill.

They appear humanoid with hair which can appear in any shade that humans can have it, as well as additionally some redder colors. They have 6 arms, and which the lower of the 6 happen to are weaker and less developed. There skin can appear in almost any color, from bright yellows, to dark reds. The brighter the color means the stronger their blood works, and the healthier the are, and the greener the color determines the stronger the potency.

 

Araphanithid Traits

The Araphanithid have gained many skills and abilities over the years of their curses evolution. Here are the ones that are present currently.

Ability Score Increase

Due to the Araphanithids natural strength, advancement.s, and body mutations, they have gained increased strength and dexterity, providing a Strength Boost of 2 to your ability score, and a Dexterity Boost of 1.

Age

Unlike their 8 legged counterparts, Araphanithids have an extremely long life span of 500 years, but due to the genetic mutations, most of them live to around 350 years. If they get lucky, or are less within the stage of the curses, they can live up to their full 500 years.

Alignment

While the Araphanithid don't have any particular alignment, most of them are Chaotic Good, being mostly based on what other races called civilized, but they aren't bad people, as they are similar to humans, with less ambition and a calmer life.

Size

Araphanithids are a lot taller than humans and slightly shorter than orcs, which keeps their size at Medium.

Speed

While Araphanithid are genetically enhanced and changed, their feet remained untouched, keeping their movement sped at 30 feet.

Darkvision

Because of your 8 mutated eyes, unlike their 8 legged counterparts, they are capable of seeing clearly in dark areas. You gain 50 feet of Darkvision, and can see all darkness as dim light. 

Multi-Armed Advantages

Araphanithid's six different arms allows for advanced strength and movement. You can carry things two times your weight and deal extra damage with your unarmed strikes (1d6 instead of 1d4).

Multi-Armed Attack

As your curse progresses you can use your multiple arms to make multiple actions. You gain the ability to make a second action at 7th level. 

Arachnid Ancestry

Your Arachnid Ancestry allows you to cast Web three times a day and gain 40 Climbing Speed. You can also produce a low quality poison. This poison will deal 2d6 poison damage every 7 hours, and using the original poison and 50 GP worth of herbs, and a brewers kit, you can create the anti-venom. You can produce an once of this poison once a day.

Languages

As the Araphanithids slowly phased out from humanity, their language changed from plain Common to a mixture of Common and Undercommon, as their home rests in the Underdark.
