Homebrew Behemoth Species Details
In the largest caves of mountain peaks one could potentially find the Behemoths. Goliaths, their distant cousins, believe they are legends or stories to scare children into submission. Behemoths live in total darkness and hibernate for long years before going out in the world to find a mate. Their bodies have long surpassed those of the Goliaths with skin that's thicker than most armors and the strength to crush a rock with their bare hands.
Origins and Appetite:
Behemoths' origins are shrouded in mystery, but it is widely believed that they share a common ancestry with the Goliaths, although they have evolved into a distinct race over countless generations. One defining characteristic of Behemoths is their insatiable appetite. They are voracious eaters, consuming nearly anything they can find. From massive trees to entire herds of animals, there seems to be no limit to their consumption.
Loners
Behemoths are rarely seen outside their caves and very, very rarely in groups of two or more. Their kind is not known to meet more than once in their lifetimes when they go to mate. Adventurers foolish enough to wake up a Behemoth would most of the time be crushed to death or eaten.
Mating Call
Every 400 hundred years the Behemoths will leave their caves to search for mates. A loud roar will be heard from the top of their mountains which serves as a call for all to know, a Behemoth is out and about.
Forever Hungry
