Homebrew Cambion Species Details
They crawl from their mothers' wombs to spread corruption throughout the multiverse. What's not to love?
Dual Nature
Cambion Traits
Your cambion character has the following traits.Ability Score Increase
Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age
Cambions mature at the same rate as humans. It is unknown how long a cambion is likely to live if allowed to die naturally.
Alignment
As a group, cambions have no specific leaning toward being lawful or chaotic. Though the majority that have been encountered have been evil, a small number are naturally good, believed to be the result of their humanoid parent being good themselves, allowing them to better fight their fiendish ancestry if not fully nullify its influence.
Size
Your size is Medium. To set your height and weight randomly, start with rolling a size modifier:
Height = 4'9", plus 2d8 inches
Weight = 110 lb., plus 1d6 × your size modifier pounds
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Fiendish Personality
Whether through exposure to the methods used to warp the minds of others, or through an innate mental discipline borne of your fiendish ancestry, your better equipped to resist mental manipulation. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.
Fiendish Fortitude
You have resistance to either cold, fire, lightning or poison damage.
Telepathic Link
You can speak telepathically to any creature you can see, provided the creature is within 60 feet of you. You don’t need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic utterances, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language.
When you’re using this trait to speak telepathically to a creature, you can use your action to give that creature the ability to speak telepathically with you for 1 hour or until you end this effect as an action. You ignore the range restriction when communicating with this linked creature. You can give this ability to only one creature at a time; giving it to another creature takes it away from any previous creature who has it.
Shapechanger Bloodline
As an action you can alter your appearance into a fiendish form, causing horns to grow from your forehead, and your skin and hair to change in color, adopting a more reddish hue than usual. While in this form, you also grow claws that you can use to make attacks with, replacing your unarmed strikes. You are proficient with these strikes and use your dexterity. On a hit, 1d6 plus dexterity modifier slashing damage.
You can revert to your regular form as an action.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common, Infernal, and Abyssal.
