Homebrew Ashar Species Details

Native from Elysium, the second plane of The Seven Steps, Ashars are the result of the union of an aarokocra and a human. Sadly, this union in Elysium is forbiden since it is the custom to believe that the Aarakocra are the closest being alive to their God : Armadyl, the God of Justice, and will only bring the Arakocra farther from their goal of ascension. Because of that, Ashars are badly regarded in Elysium and most of the time disregarded as lesser being and often seperated from the rest of the population. Even so, Ashars are trained and taught the way of Armadyl and his beliefs. Most of them becomes the sentinels of the caves below the cities and protects them from any incursions from the devils who comes to destroy The Seven Steps. But some few selected Ashars are given an even gretter purpose. The role of .

 

 

All Ashars have physical difference but most of them have the body of a human, the hears and wings of an Araakocra. They mostly are 5-6 feet tall but it can also depends of the Aarakocra species. There is also some feathers covering some of the arms and legs. Of course, the patterns and the colors of the feathers all differ from the Aarakocra and the human. Ashars have narrower eyes and pupils than humans but not as much as the Birdfolks.

Like Aarakocra, they take great care of their apperances and often bathed. Confinement terrifies the Ashars.To be grounded, trapped underground, or imprisoned by the cold, unyielding earth is a torment few Ashars can withstand. Even when perched on a high branch or at rest in their mountaintop homes, they appear alert, with eyes moving and bodies ready to take flight.They are very curious by nature and show lots of kindness towards other entities even develish ones sometimes. They're only goal in life is to be able to make up for their parents misstakes and show Armadyl that they are also worthy of his love. As such, they take great pride into their calling and devote their entire life to it.

 

 

Ashar Traits

As an Ashar, you have certain traits in common with Aarakocras and Humans. Being able to fly at high speed starting at 1st level is exceptionally effective in certain circumstances and exceedingly dangerous in others and the backstory of the Ashars is pretty constrictive. As a result, playing an Ashar requires special consideration and approval by your DM.

Age

Ashars grow and live as long as humans.

Alignment

Almost all Ashars are naturally Lawfull Good. Some of them, mostly WindRider, can be Neutral Good. There would need a serious reason or event for an Ashar to have an evil alignment.

Size

Ashars are about 5-6 feets. They have thin, lightweight bodies that weigh between 80 and 100 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Flight

You have a flying speed of 25 feet. To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Aarakocra, and Celestial.

Celestial Vision

You can see within the ethereal plane from within 60 Ft of you.

Celestial Resilience

You receive 1/3 more Hits Points from healing spells and ablilities.
