Homebrew Cursedead Species Details

Humanoid undead beings that were revived by amateur necromancers either as training or accidentally due to their untamed power. Due to their sloppy reanimation they were discarded as not only are they uncontrollable by their masters but are also slow and can’t swim or climb. Due to their slow, lumbering nature they work better with larger, heavier weapons rather than smaller, lighter ones. You gain proficiency in great weapons.
Their bodies are often decaying and rotting although some are the bodies of the recently deceased and are less decayed. Their clothes, tattered and torn, are usually what they were buried in but very few are hired as bodyguards in some of the less reputable establishments in remote areas or the outskirts of a few major cities where the owners give them clothes that are more intimidating. Due to their undead nature they have resistance to bludgeoning, piecing and slashing from non magical attacks and immunity to necrotic damage.

Cursed to roam the material plane without a master, if killed by godly or radiant power the soul is destroyed and the body can never be reanimated, reborn or revived again. If killed by any other means the soul leaves the body, which falls to the ground lifeless, and the souls is trapped in the material plan until a necromancer revives it or a deity of some kind allows it access to the afterlife.
