Homebrew Corruptling (1.1) Species Details
For millennia, the Corrupt Abomination has lied in wait, waiting for the perfect time to strike. At long last, the time has come, and it’s sent out dozens of amorphous, dark-red creatures that embody the hate it represents. These Corruptlings are coated in a translucent black slime, which is a physical manifestation of their hate.
Corruptling (1.1) Traits
Ability Score Improvement, Spawn of Hate, Amorphous Form, Crusher of HopesAbility Score Improvement
Corruptlings are deceivingly nimble. They also have a thin layer of raw corruption coating their skin that strengthens their will to persist.
Corruptlings have a +1 bonus to dexterity and a +2 bonus to constitution.
Amorphous Form
Corruptlings take many forms, with the most common having the lower half of a spider, the great wings of a dragon, or the powerful tail of the aquatic monstrosities known as Leviathans. This allows them to traverse a variety of terrain respective to their forms.
You have 15ft movement in either climbing, flying, or swimming.
Spawn of Hate
Corruptlings are embodiments of pure malice. They are formed from a hate that would drive any other race mad. As such, the raw emotional energy that emanates from them acts as a barrier from psychic attacks. However, this makes them more vulnerable to the divine, and they are very brash and anti-social.
Corruptlings have immunity to psychic damage, vulnerability to radiant damage, and disadvantage on charisma-based checks.
Languages
Corruptlings originate from an ancient and demonic force, and they naturally speak the language of both. They’ve also learned the language of the many to better communicate their hatred.
Crusher of Hopes
Corruptlings are finely tuned to the negativity of those around them, and can use this to their advantage. By striking a target while concentrating their hatred into the blow, they can harm the target’s mental state.
This is a STR-based melee attack that deals psychic damage, and its damage scales like a cantrip: 2d8 at lvl1, 4d8 at lvl5, 6d8 at lvl11, and 8d8 at lvl17
This ability can be used once per long rest
