Homebrew Awoken Species Details
From the plane of Nirvana, these beings are focused on using their inner ki to empower themselves. The Awoken is a holy and somewhat psychic race who reach adulthood when they reach enlightenment and awaken their third eye, hence their name. Being mistaken for elves, people treat them as elves, except for the Vudrani monks who worship them. They can be summoned by an ancient Vudrani ritual, involving various things to make yourself calm and magical ki stones, letting the summoner gaze into the realm of Nirvana. Vudrani call upon them to do tasks that they could not to themselves.
Physical Description: The Awoken look much like elves, but taller and having a more tan skin color. Their ears are pointed, and they keep their hair long, mostly for covering up their extra eye they have been granted. Their third eye is much like their other two, but it’s bigger and in the middle of their foreheads, and most Awoken have ceremonial painting around their eye.
Society: Awoken prefer to stay in their land of Nirvana, and immediately go back once the Vudrani’s requests are complete, but every once and awhile, they’ll stay and try to make a new life in the Material Plane. The Awoken who stay in the Material Plane must do a ritual similar to the one used to summon them for them to actually stay in the Material Plane, or they’ll be forcefully brought back to Nirvana. The ritual can also be made using a tome of unbinding. Awoken who do this ritual, called the ritual of unbinding, will be considered Unbound, and they can worship any deity they want.
Relations: The Awoken, of course, have a very strong bond with the Vudrani monks, and they will do anything to protect the Vudrani Empire. They absolutely hate outsiders that reside in the Plane of Hell, and will try to kill them on sight. They also tend to form relations with elves and aasimar, but never with humans or dwarves. Since the Awoken blend in so well with elves, they are treated just as elves, meaning Xucaldirons, Dwarves, and Orcs hate them. Other than those races, they are accepted in most places.
Alignment and Religion: The Awoken must be neutral good, do to their ties to Nirvana, unless they are unbound. They must worship a deity that has control over the Plane of Nirvana. Much like tieflings, they can choose a feeling as a name, such as “Joy” or “Hope”, depending on their deity.

Posted Aug 16, 2018+2 AC seems a bit too potent. This can cause an Unbalance. Plate mail with a shield equals out to 20, plus this race makes the characters AC 22. This is extremely potent, and can be done very early on.
