Homebrew Wolven Species Details

Short and Stout, the wolven are a small dog like people. Often kept as servants and pets by humans, they are extremely loyal, and inquisitive. Often they serve as messengers and cleaners, and are known to have an insatiable hunger, and often fixate on one specific food which is always their favourite food. 

They have known to steal and horde various items, often not possessing any self restraint. 

Wolven are rarely found by themselves, and in the wild their packs can reach up to 30 individuals. Their communities are very tightly knit and they're very loving and caring toward another, caring for their young, sick and injured without any hesitation. 

Wolven Traits

Your wolven character has the following racial traits:

Nimble Escape

You can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of your turns.

Pack Tactics

You have advantage when you take the attack action if at least one of your allies are within 5ft of them.

Languages

You speak Common and one language of your choice. 

Keen Smell and Hearing

Your canine nose and ears can pick up scents and smells most races wouldn't. You have advantage on all Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell. 

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Size

Wolven stand at around 2 to 4 feet tall. Your size is small.

Walking Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 and you have 20ft of climbing speed.

Ability Score Increase

Your wolf reflexes grant you supreme agility, and your puppy charm can melt even the coldest of hearts. You gain +2 to Dexterity, and +1 to Charisma

Age

Wolven reach maturity at around 7 years old and live to around 30 years old. 

Alignment

Wolven have both chaotic and lawful tendencies. As a collective, wolven society is Lawful Good, although most wolven tend towards Chaotic Good. Wolven are very excitable and can be riled up by something as simple as food.
