Homebrew Baaset Species Details

 The Baaset stand about 5'10 to 6'10 feet tall and have muscular builds. They move quietly and tend to speak softly and tend to dress loosely. They have feline ears and tails that distinguish them from the other common races. These delicate, exotic features makes them a valuable commodity in the slave trade and are kept as indentured servants by many of the southern human and elven kingdoms. The history of the Baaset was believed to have originated from a warlocks spell, turning his human servant into the first of their kind. Sadly, much of their history and culture has been destroyed, stolen, and suppressed.

They can breed with humans and elves, but not Tabaxi strangely enough. These offspring may have less fur and a shorter tail, or more pronounced ears respectively. Although most of these children happened by accident, and are either killed or forced into slavery as well. The blood of the Baaset people is strong, and can't be diluted further than this.

Baaset Traits

Half human, half cat creatures, they usually have a human body with cat ears and a cat tail and colored cat eyes, with some having slits for pupils. They stand about 5 to 6 feet tall and have a muscular built. They move quietly and tend to speak softly.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity increases by 2, and Charisma increases by 1.

Age

Baaset mature a little faster than humans, reaching adulthood around age 16. They age a bit faster and usually live to be around 85 years old.

Alignment

Baaset tend toward towards Neutral Good. Although some are bitter against humans and elves, and are True Neutral.

Size

Baaset are generally between 5'10 to 6'10, with muscular builds, although shorter members aren't too rare. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 40 feet. Climbing speed is 30 and swimming speed is 30.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice. Baaset typically learn the languages of other peoples they're raised around.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
