Homebrew Cari (The cursed folk of the sea) Species Details

 

Humans. By nature they believe themselves to be able to rule all. Fighting each other pointlessly over land, money, and power. Conquering other races as if it were their job to deny them of their existence. Ah yes, humans by nature are only there to destroy and take from other, that is, until something much more powerful then them puts these weak humans in their rightful place. As nothing more then dolls to be toyed by a higher power.

Cari are cursed humans, cursed to dwell within the deepest parts of the ocean and learn to survive within this harsh new landscape. But over generations of growth and adaptation, they became a race all their own. One to now be feared in name if you ever happen to encounter one during a dip in their waters.

Cursed Linieage

Cari were once human's long ago, an adventure gone wrong lead them face to face with a greater water elemental. This elemental cursed the humans to forever dwell within the depths of the ocean. For if they steeped on land they would quickly dry out without water. (Cari gain 1 level of exhaustion for every 10 minutes they are on land without water).

Over the years the Cari have learned to grow and adapt to the harsh waters in which they live, they gained the ability to have control over the very waves of the ocean itself. At fifth level they gain the ability to manipulate large sums of water to attack their enemy and protect themselves.

 

 

 

Appearance

 

Cari a humans who gained amphibious traits to better live in the ocean, They tend to have either bright purple, blue, green, or yellow eyes. As well as having soft scales located on various parts of their body. Cari also tend to have pointed or fined like eats as to better hear under water. Cari have a swim speed of 60 as well as dark vision.

Your Dexterity score increases by 2.

Age

Cari age at the same rate as humans, though live for a bit longer. Dying around the age of 140

Alignment

Due to their circumstances of coming to be, Cari can be vengeful at times, drowning other creatures if they come too close. They lean towards the neutral to evil alignments.

Size

Cari long ago came from humans, so it makes sense that they generally stayed around that same side. You can range anywhere between 5-6ft in height.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Growing up you learned the techniques passed down by your parents to harness and control the very waves of the ocean, originally ment to be used in aiding with hunting and self defense. But something now you use in your unique situation.
