Homebrew Yeaxerrant Species Details

Yeaxerrants are humanoids that can stand anywhere from 5’6”-6’ on average and typically weigh around 110-130 pounds. They have porcelain white skin, white pupiless eyes, and hair that can be green, purple, or red and shades thereof. Regardless of gender, hair is long and straight. They generally have sharp facial features, a small pointed nose, small pointed chins, and they lack facial hair of any kind. Their ears are long and pointed, pointing parallel on either side of the head.

”Yeaxerrant blood is green in color, this is due to their biology utilizing different blood cells from humans. Their cells take the form of chlorocuorin, or giant hemoglobin. This cell however is not as efficient in transporting oxygen as human blood cells, which is a contributing factor in the somewhat short and uniform statures of their species. The giant hemoglobin is a macromolecule, typically found free-floating in the plasma rather than contained within a blood cell.”

"Yeaxerrant immune systems are entirely dependent upon symbiotic microbes which essentially serve the purpose of white blood cells. The term coined for this relationship is
"Mercenarianism”, as these microbes serve the purpose of defending the body from other parasites while technically being parasites themselves, taking food from the body in return. Newborn Yeaxerrants usually have to be in relative isolation for a set time after birth in order for their mercenarial microbe colonies to develop.”

"Yeaxerrant eyes lack pupils in their entirety, instead appearing as just a white conjunctiva. They lack all comes in these eyes, save for one. Limited their vision to a monochrome palette of blacks, whites, and grays."

"The brain of a Yeaxerrant is remarkably similar to that of a human, save for one major difference. The "Memory Beetle". This is a small translucent beetle which resides within the brain of a Yeaxerrant, establishing a symbiotic relationship. This beetle consumes small amounts of produced chemicals, and in return, it produces glutamate. Without this beetle, a Yeaxerrant will not be able to form or maintain memories."
