Homebrew Mothkin Feybourne. Species Details

Physical Description 

There are multiple types of moth-kin from lunar, spring, summer, autumn, winter and so on. However, despite their different designs and colours they share all the shame traits. They all have four arms, they all look the same and moth-kin are ambidextrous with all their hands. They all have large fragile wings that have pretty colourful designs. They have fluffy short skin and areas that have more fluffy hair and they have photo-receptors/antenna's that have behavioural features similar to dogs, flapping wilding when happy or exited, droopy when sad or bored and stiff or vibrating if upset or angry.  Other then that, they mostly resemble very tall and thicc humans. 

History

Moth-kin have existed for a while, but have only started to interact and socialise with other humanoids. During their isolated time, they've created many hidden tribes within the fey wilds with a few migrating to the material plane. They are a peaceful race that have never fought in wars or conflicts and their foreign policy is that of trade and peace. They massively value family, parent hood and nature and as such most of their culture and lives have been forged from these traits. They look towards a minor neutral good moth-kin God, who is the mother-moth of the fey wilds. This tends to mean moth-kin's are usually Monks, Clerics, Druids and Rangers but exceptions have popped up when they began to socialise and interact with he outside world, learning new things, ways of fight and combat etc. 

Society 

With parenthood being one of the most important things to moth-kin, its been integrated from many accepts, Tribe leaders have always been great fathers and mothers, either it be through looking after many children or adopting children who have suffered, and have programs that allow moth-kins who cannot have children (either it be their health, sexuality ect) to bear or adopt children. Furthermore they have high regard and shared importance with the cycle of life, including animals and plants and often many moth-kin dedicate their lives to helping one another, helping animals and neutering plants. Every moth-kin has some form of career that actively helps and saves other people and beings due to their kind and wise nature.

Size

Mothkin are usually on the larger side of humanoids when they are fully matured, ranging anywhere from 6'4" to 7'8". Despite their larger stature, Moth-kin are in the Medium size classification.

Speed

Mothkin have a walking speed of 30 feet.

Age

The form moth-kin take during their cycle of life is more complicated. When first born to around 5 years old, they are considered a baby caterpillar, often being small and furry. During this age span they cannot learn to talk, but will still slowly understand basic ideas. After 5 years, they will enter a cocoon state for 9 months where afterwards they will become a full moth-kin. At this point, Moth-kin become fully matured at the age of 25-27 but will live for around 150-250 years. 

Languages

Mothkin can read, write and speak Common and Sylvan. Furthermore, you can talk and understand any type of insect as if you were under the effect of the Speak with Animals spell.

Ability Score Increase

Moth-kins are naturally wise and agile, your wisdom increases by 2 and your dexterity increases by 1. However, not all moth-kin are the same, you may change both stat increases.

Feybourne

You are considered fey and Humanoid. You have the advantage of saving throws attempting to charm or frighten you. 

Multi-armed

Mothkin typically have four arms in total. Because of this, Mothkin can hold up to four arms' worth of weapons or items at a time and when you make the attack action, you can use any weapon you are carrying. However, the shape of your body means your two lower arms can only hold light weapons and items that weigh less then 25 or less pounds, and cannot carry shields and martial weapons.

Fragile Wings

Mothkin tend to be too heavy and their wings are too fragile for general flight. However, they can hover a number of feet above ground or liquid equal to their dexterity modifier + PB. Furthermore when your wings are out you are under the effect of feather fall. You cannot wear heavy armour with this feature and any Armor must have room for your wings to move and extend. However, if your wings get wet through normal or magical means, these features cannot be used until they dry or you use an action to shake them dry. 

Enhanced Photo-receptors

Your special evolutionary traits allow you to see clearly and perfectly in complete darkness in complete color in a 90ft range.  However, you have disadvantage on any checks made to ignore distractions such as sounds, lights etc. and when in a dark area, you must make a wisdom saving throw when looking at a light in darkness (DC 15) or become immobile and stare at the light.

Fey magic innate

You know the Guidance cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast a guiding bolt as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and at 5th level you can cast moonbeam as a 3rd level spell. You  regain the ability to cast these spells when you finish a long rest. You can use any spell slots you have to cast these spells, otherwise your spellcasting modifier is wisdom
