Homebrew Vampire Species Details
When a mortal falls prey to a vampire, they die. Though, the vampire can choose to bring their victim back to the world of the living as a spawn, or a vampire can be created with dark magic, either from a mortal seeking immortality, or an entity resurrecting a being as an undead.
Some vampires seek power over those below them, or seek power to rise above others. This usually means that death lies ahead within their journey. The cost of immortality has lead many to feast on the blood of living creatures to sustain themselves, ending in the loss of a loved one or death of many innocents. The choice of becoming a vampire may not have been yours to choose, a higher vampire may have brought you back to serve them or an entity may have made a deal with you, offering your greatest desires. Once you become a vampire, a form of dark magic manifests your body and soul, causing most people to become evil or a ravenous monster.
Though a cure for vampirism may lie somewhere out in the world, there hasn't been any way to cure an individual of their vampirism, many have tried using holy magic to try and remove the curse, but only leads to the vampires death and afterwards, people began to stop searching for a cure. Most vampires have accepted their identity and exploit it to provoke fear among the masses, though this fear isn't entirely irrational, being that vampires must feast upon victim's blood for nutrition, the experience of which is said to be the most unbearable yet pleasurable sensation to exist.
