Homebrew Canitaur Species Details

Taking man’s best friend to a new level, introducing the canitaur. Part dog, part centaur. Like dogs, canitaurs come in a variety of sizes and breeds with a variety of skills. 

Breeds include:

Hunting canitaur: These breeds specialize in tracking down their targets through all sorts of terrain and weather. Breeds include Labrador, Retriever, Spaniel, Hounds, etc. This breed of canitaur tends to be a medium size compared to other canitaur breeds. *

Herding canitaur: These breeds specialize in natural leading and scouting. You can count on a herding canitaur to watch out for threats on your party’s travels. Breeds include Collie, Shepherd, Sheepdog, Cattledog, Corgi etc. This breed of canitaur tends to be a medium size compared to other canitaurs, however there are exceptions. *

Guard canitaur: These breeds specialize in fighting, protecting, and never backing down from a fight. Breeds include Rottweiler, Doberman, German Shepherd, Pit Bull, etc. This breed of canitaur tends to be the largest of the canitaur race, however there are a few exceptions. *

Toy canitaur: These breeds specialize in one thing, looking fabulous. Breeds include Poodle, Terrier, Chihuahua, Pug, etc. Toy canitaurs tend to be smaller than other canitaurs however there are exceptions. *

Wolf canitaur: These breeds are the ultimate hunters, they’re vigilant, silent stalkers, with incredible hunting techniques, capable of tracking and killing their targets across great distances. These breeds of canitaur aren’t typically found within civilizations, but rather out in the wilds.These breeds are typically the largest of the canitaurs.

Pack Tactics

Bite

Your canine ancestry has provided you with sharp teeth and strong jaws which you can use to bite your opponents with. Target takes 2d4 + strength piercing damage on a successful hit. 

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity Score increases by 2. Different breeds have different bonuses.

Charge

When you use your action to Dash, you can use a bonus action to make one melee weapon attack or to shove a creature. If you move at least 10 feet in a straight line immediately before taking this bonus action, you either gain a +5 bonus to the attack’s damage roll (if you chose to make a melee attack and hit) or push the target up to 10 feet away from you (if you chose to shove and you succeed).

Pack Tactics

You have advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of your allies is within 5 ft. of you and the ally isn't incapacitated.

Keen Smell and Hearing

You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write in Common and Canine.

Speed

Your walking speed is 45.
