Homebrew Adaman Species Details

"You must always be careful, little one, of who you give your name to and where you place your things. If you are clumsy and you forget, the Adaman may come and whisk you away so that you can amuse those in the Feywilds."

With bright and charismatic personalities, paired up with an insatiable curiosity, the Adaman are the fools of the Feywild. They masquerade as humans to fit in better and due to the stigma surrounding them  this is often times safer for them lest they be branded a witch.

Fey Bloodline

Adaman present as human in appearance. It is not unusual for them to be found in communities of humans, learning from them or simply waiting for a child to give their name. Adaman have markings on their skin that glow when their magic is invoked but otherwise, these markings lie dormant.

Most Adaman are blindfolded or their eyes kept from sight. Removing the blindfold reveals stormy eyes and Adaman eyes can vary greatly from being vessels into the night skies or simply being an unseeing vibrant purple .

Adaman are the Suze of humans, and it is not unusual for them to have a quirky appearance such as the clothing they wear, piercings or for their hair to be an unnatural colour.

 The Wanderers

Adaman are often scattered around and it is rare to find two in the same place. They are adept at finding ways into the Feywild and also like to go back there for comfort now and then. They are well adapted to the material plane but they keep their true nature a secret from many, not wishing to be hunted down  and cast out of cozy settlements.

Adaman get their kicks from the pranks they play and this can be harmless fun or for the more twisted Adaman, it can be taking a child to the Feywilds to earn bragging right. If an Adaman believes they are under suspicion by those around them, they will grow uncomfortable and move on.

Adaman Names

Adaman have very simplistic names, names from the Feywild mostly and ones that reflect their nature. If they are living among humans, they will often pick up a human alias to use. Their names are usually short and sweet and it's not unusual for them to be named after something from the Feywilds.

Many Adaman will lie about their names to avoid being caught out or having their own name taken. The aliases are usually pet names or very common friendly terms.

Unnerving Aura

Due to their odd appearance and their humans, Adaman are often unnerving to those around them and if someone doesn't understand what they are, they chalk it up to the blind dude creature simply being a little off.

Adaman are often shunned from villages and towns, if they are ever discovered but in some places they will be beaten or hung to be made an example from. The arrival of stone circles or mushroom rings in the area is a good indicator as Adaman's like to have an escape route planned in case they are discovered.
