Homebrew Cyborg Species Details

Cyborgs are the youngest race on Shaiken, they were only first created 40 years ago. Artificers had recently had a massive breakthrough, they figured out how to create intelligence. So they take people who had recently passed away and gave them a new heart and brain. That was the beginning of the Cyborgs, which have exploded in popularity among Opians. Although the rest of Shaiken ain’t so happy about it.

Cyborgs are interesting in the fact they use the body of a recently killed or passed person on Shaiken, of any race, and use them in creating a cyborg. Cyborgs have the shape of the person but can’t use what made the species special, for example a Venokora cyborg can’t fly. Cyborgs also look indistinguishable from a normal person, the only way you would be able to tell is through the fact they have a part of their body replaced with machinery.

After Cyborgs exploded in popularity, the leaders of Shaiken had some disputes with Opians and a law has passed that all Cyborgs must have at least one body part replaced with machinery. Which Opians exploited the wording of the law and some replace only a toe or finger. Then make them wear gloves or shoes. Certain establishments will do a scan to make sure that people entering aren’t Cyborgs. Though recently there has been disagreements in the political side of Shaiken about if Cyborgs should even have rights….

Cyborg Traits

Your cyborg character has the following traits.

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution score increases by 2, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 1.

Age

Cyborgs are a very recent creation, your age is somewhere below 30 years old. You are immune to magical aging effects.

Alignment

Cyborgs are really all over the chart due to the fact that their alignment usually depends on how they were created, some good alignment Cyborgs are created to assist people in their jobs. While some evil aligned are created for crime or assassinations.

Size

Your size is Medium. To your height and weight depend on the body you have,

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Clockwork Brain

Although your brain and heart were replaced by machinery, your body still has functions. Though due to your brain being replaced you are immune to psychic damage, and being charmed.

Resting Gears

When you take a long rest, you must spend at least six hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn’t render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.

Stored Weapon

Your weapon can be stored in your body part as a type of clockwork fold in, your weight from your weapon will not matter.

Cyborg’s Fear

Cyborgs are unnaturally observant due to the fear of being ambushed. You have proficiency in the Perception skill

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
