Homebrew Draconites Species Details

Draconites are humanoid dragons such as Dragonborn and Kobolds except they have unique features that sets them apart from most draconic races, first of all they have wings. The wings aren't optional but customary to have and they also have tails. However they have unique breath weapons that don't need recharging or rests. They can be controlled by players and Dungeon Masters, but another unique feature of these creatures is that they weren't born from a dragon. Their origins are unknown however they do have a poison that can transform humanoid creatures into their own ranks but only by choice. This poison is called "Draconic Calling" the colour and breath weapon depends on the Draconite's ancestry.

Breath Weapon

Your breath weapon can exhale destructive energy depending on your unknown ancestry. Your breath doesn't require any short or long rests and you can exhale it any time on your turn except it takes up the whole turn. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level.

Damage Resistance

You have resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.

Tribes

Draconites have tribes but not clans, out of 12 tribes, each one resembles their belief and division. Like knowledge and war for example. However Draconite tribes aren't commonly seen near common folk and are thought to be rare.
