Homebrew Demon Species Details

As he towered over me I didnt know how to react. I was in awe, it was the first time i saw one. He looked down on me and i was surprised "Tell me a story", he said. "What ?", was the only answer i managed to give him. "A story, do you have one?". I didnt understand it but i didnt want to anger him so i told him a children's story from my hometown. As my story came to an ending, he had one question. "Where do these creatures form your story life?". "It is a just story", i jokingly replied. "Yes i know, it was an interesting story and i would like to meet this individuals". It took me several minutes to make him understand that it wasn't real and just a story you tell your children. "Hmmm....I see", he responded. He took out a big and old book wrote some passages, thanked me for my story and went his way.

Every Demon was once just a story, and as they were only stories they like to listen to them. While still small at the beginning, Demons grew into bigger and more powerful creatures. Even though the demon itself doesn't know which story is his, everytime it is told he is empowered. As Demons come in all kinds of forms and shapes, other creatures are somewhat alianated from them.

Demon Physicalities

Demons come in all kinds of different looks, but they have all one thing in common as their Story is told they become bigger. As in height, they can vary from 2ft to sometimes even 8ft. The same principle applies to their width and weight. Demons are best described as Eldritch horrors, any creature you can think of - there is a demon somewhere fullfilling these criterias.

Unknown Home

Not much is known of the Realm the Demons originate from. One thing is known: "The Silver Fields" is it's name.

"I'm telling you, you have to belive me. I was there, the silver fields i saw them. Real silver, the floor is made of silver and the sky i couldnt forget the look of it. Blue but not really, maybe purple, something in between. Forests as far as you can see, but one thing, one thing was breathtaking, a huge castle stood there alone and towering into the sky. I think they all lived in there, I saw them approaching it. I don't know how i got there and how i got back but i was there.....

Demon Traits

As a Demon you are an old and ancient race. You take everything quite literally and that brings you sometimes into peculiar situations. Being able to fly at 1st level is exceptionally effective in certain circumstances and exceedingly dangerous in others. As a result, playing a Demon requires special consideration by your DM.

Demonic Disscusion

Once per day you can ask one question to a higher demon that will answer truthfully but does not know everything, this demon will take your question extremely litteral.

Infinite Knowledge

When you attempt to learn or recall a piece of lore, if you do not know that information, you often know where and from whom you can obtain it. Usually, this information comes from a library, scriptorium, university, or a sage or other learned person or creature. Your DM might rule that the knowledge you seek is secreted away in an almost inaccessible place, or that it simply cannot be found. Unearthing the deepest secrets of the multiverse can require an adventure or even a whole campaign.

Growth in Knowledge

Age

The moment demons are born they can instantly walk or fly. For demons the concept of age is irrelevant, of course there was a specific date they were born but as long as their Stories are told they are immortal. As long as there is one person remembering a demons Story he stays at his current age.
