Homebrew Cairnborn Species Details
Guardians of forgotten places, stone people held together by moss and magic.
In olden days, druids used a long-forgotten magic to bind spirits into humanoid cairns of stone. Charged to keep sacred glades, springs, and graveyards, these beings remained sleepy for many years, and moss grew over them. The druids are gone now, and so are the sites they wished to protect, but the Cairnborn remain. Many still linger, guarding the forest creatures and plants. Many more have gone to sleep, and are no more than stone. But some now choose to travel the world, searching for a new adventure and something worth defending.
