Homebrew Bellowmen Species Details
Bellowmen are short, squat humans who have been mutated by a demonic curse and turned into froglike beings. They still call themselves human and believe the curse to be similar to that of a disease. They generally have a human head with large swollen silky black eyes, oily greasy skin, webbed fingers and toes and some even have stripes and spots. Bellowmen are also known for their croak and their enormous tongue which can stretch upwards of 3 feet in length.
Bellowmen in your World
Bellowmen generally fill the role of fishermen or hard labor. They are not trusted with running human cities or with magic and are seen as physically inferior to most humans and are not trusted generally to be soldiers or guards. They do sometimes find jobs amongst other races however and many find work as alchemists for their access to rare underwater herbs.
Bellowmen Society
Bellowmen rarely have a society of their own to call home but when they do it is called a colony and they have similar leadership to humanity. Their leaders are generally elected officials and many take on titles such as mayor, king or governor. Bellowmen society is unique however in that it functions almost entirely underwater, and while many Bellowmen live near lakes and ponds many live near sewers and it is not uncommon for Bellowmen to lay their eggs in sewers
