Homebrew Slivreth Species Details
Slivreths are a race of oozes that are unlike most others. They look like humans made out of multicolored ooze, and are often translucent. They have a well-earned reputation for their good spirits, gregarious personalities, and love of people of all types. However, Slivreths possess an alien and inscrutable mindset, their desires and thoughts driven by a different set of basic principles than those of other people. They value joyful experiences and are almost always in a good mood, but they are otherwise hard to read.
Slimey Shapechangers
Slivreths tend to dislike their innate emotional swings and out-of-touch mindsets. At some times, they feel every emotion to an extreme and at other times, they seem to lack emotion entirely. To combat this, most Slivreths pay very close attention to the behavior of others and replicate it. They do this with many people until they create a personality that they like. They replicate other creatures very well and can shift their forms with a thought. Many slivreths use this gift as a form of artistic and emotional expression. Slivreths do, however, prefer to stay in their true form, which resembles a slick, slimy humanoid.
Slivreth Names
Slivreths have names that resemble the names of most oozes, being unisex and consisting of three syllables, often ending in -ex and are vaguely alien-sounding such as Juiblex. They aren't given a surname at first, as they choose what they want it to be later in life.

Slivreth Traits

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.
Alignment
Slivreths enjoy living a life free of the mantle of law. They gravitate toward being good, but some have devious streaks and enjoy causing dismay.
Size
Slivreths in their true form are a similar size and shape to humans. Your size is medium.
Age
Slivreths reach maturity at around age 15 and then immediately stop aging entirely. You are immune to magical aging effects.
Speed
You have a walking and climbing speed of 30 feet. You cannot use your climbing speed while wearing medium or heavy armor.
Ooze
Your creature type is ooze, rather than humanoid. You are considered a shapeshifter for the purpose of effects and spells such as moonbeam.
Amorphous
You can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing but doing so leaves behind any equipment that wouldn't fit through the space you're moving through. You can doff any armor as an action and can use half of your movement speed to escape a grapple or restraint.
Sunlight Sensitivity
You have disadvantage on attack rolls and on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.
Shapeshifter
As an action, you can change your appearance and your voice. You determine the specifics of the changes, including your coloration, hair length, and sex. You can also adjust your height and weight, but not so much that your size changes. You can make yourself appear as a member of another race, though none of your game statistics change. You can’t duplicate the appearance of a creature you’ve never seen, and you must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs that you have. Your clothing and equipment aren’t changed by this trait.
You stay in the new form until 10 minutes pass, you use an action to revert to your true form or until you die.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and two other languages of your choice. Learning any additional languages takes you only half the time it would normally take.
