Homebrew Created Species Details

The Created were built to curate the world while it slept and the old gods were gone. While the first created were mindless automatons, the world started giving them souls that were part of it. An unexpected breakthrough produced sapient soldiers, artisans, and politicians. Created are made from wood, stone, and metal, but they can feel pain and emotion. Built as weapons, artisans, and politicians they must now find a purpose within the world they find themselves in. Created can be a steadfast ally, a charismatic politician, or a craftsman in search of the perfect creation method.

The Worlds Children

Created are formed from a blend of organic and inorganic materials. Root-like cords infused with alchemical fluids serve as their muscles, wrapped around a framework of steel, darkwood, or stone. Armored plates form a protective outer shell and reinforce joints. Created share a common facial design, with a hinged jaw and crystal or amber eyes embedded beneath a reinforced brow ridge. Beyond these common elements of created design, the precise materials and build of a created vary based on the purpose for which it was designed.

Although they were manufactured, created are living humanoids. Resting, healing magic, and the Medicine skill all provide the same benefits to created that they do to other humanoids.

Created Personalities

The created were built to serve, convince, and fight. For most of their existence, created had a clearly defined function and were encouraged to focus purely on that role. The Treaty of Korshar gave them freedom, but many still struggle both to find a place in the world and to relate to the creatures whom they live around.

All Created show emotion. Many Created embrace a concrete purpose — such as protecting allies, completing a contract, or exploring a land — and embrace this task to the fullest becoming mercenaries, artisans, and public figures.

The typical Created has a sexless body shape. Some Created ignore the concept of gender entirely, while others adopt a gender identity.

The more a Created develops its individuality, the more likely it is to modify its body, seeking out an artificer to customize the look of its face, limbs, and plating to the image of its own design.

Created Names

Most created were assigned no name as there weren't many who trusted these people in order to give them names. As independent individuals, some have chosen new names as a way to express their path in life. A few take on human names.
