Homebrew Angel, (5e Race) Species Details

Angel
Angels come from the outer planes of the Material Sphere, aligned mostly alongside good and positive forces and energies, and are those considered closest to the gods outside the sphere, known as the Pantheon of Tirr, with their more evil counterparts being the scourge of the lower planes, the Devils and Demons.
Personality and Relations
Angels are almost always amicable in their dealing with others, especially when in the company of other races. This is because of their innately good nature, but also because angels genuinely care for others, and aspire to build trust and friendship in others no matter their company. While most angels have unhappy histories with demons and devils, even these particular beings would find friendliness in an angel, should they not bear open hostility or discourtesy towards them.
Some angels do not exactly follow this kind of predisposition, however, and this is often applied to those entities who are called Archons, commonly. While similar in belief systems, and in appearance, archons are much different in their relations to other people, and also in their bodily make, somewhat stronger than their angel counterparts, while giving up some of the same charismatic attributes.
Physical Description
Generally, Angels tend to be rather fair-skinned, winged humanoids. They are often taller than humans, though not by any number of excessive feet, and often reflect their sunny disposition in their appearance; They have bright, clear skin, and beautifully plumed, feathered wings. Chromatic differences in hair, eyes, and skin are just as about diverse as any other race in Tirr, except for dragonkin. Blonde hair, Peachy skin, and Blue eyes are typical, however. Angels as most, are Immortal. They do not age, nor can they die of Natural Causes.
Wings on Angels typically have a large span, often about 1.5 times the span of the arms. Most wings are white in color, though this can vary anywhere between the lighter end of the spectrum, though white is the most common. Angels are able to hide their wings at will, as not to alarm mortals. Summoning or dismissing their wings is counted as a standard action.
Alignment
Most Angels, and practically all of them, are of the good alignment; The vast majority drift towards Neutral Good, while Lawful and Chaotic varieties are still present, especially in archon communities. While it is highly unlikely that one will ever come across a non-good angel, there have been cases in the history of Tirr with this happening. These are few and far between, however, becoming little more than relics in history.
Religion
Most Angels worship the Great Mother, given to their alignment and similar nature, while some still worship Balthazar, again, especially prevalent in the Archon communities, given their more vicarious nature. It is not uncommon to find small numbers of angels who worship other good deities, but any other may be a far fetch, indeed.
Racial Traits
Angels are divided into two different groups: The main population, Angels, and a small derivative but mostly similar species, Archons.Physical Qualities
Angels mature at an accelerated rate reaching adulthood at age 12 and are immortal.
An Angel's skin tones, eye color, and overall physical appearance often appear to be holy and divine. They are taller than humans however their essence is somewhat lighter. It is not uncommon for Angels to radiate a powerful aura of colored light depending on their mood and seem to be more real than anything around them. Some Angels' auras are so powerful that they convey emotions and so most will learn how to control their aura as children so that they can be more persuasive speakers or stealthier thieves. Most Angels are considered unnatural their entire lives because of their hardly changing appearance after 12 years of age.
Attitudes and Beliefs
Angels are rarely found in groups as it is common for them to seek solitude however those who are more extroverted seek out their fellow angels looking for some form of kinship that they never had. Due to the power and rarity of the race, many Angels are kept as personal retainers to nobles and kings, and are frequently used as elite guards. It is not uncommon for a king to hire an Angel as a personal bodyguard, trainer and teacher of the heir to the throne, however the great attractiveness of some Angels results in kings sending them away for fear of losing their Queen.
Angel Communities
Most Angels find no comfort in their host societies; with few ever truly feeling at home. It is because of this Angels tend to travel, following whatever path they wish, so that can find their place in the world. Some are drawn to divine paths, such as that of the paladin or clerics, while others wish to commune with nature, becoming sages and shamans; though more commonly an Angel will seek to prove themselves in battle and are well represented among the martial classes.
Angels are often intimidating to be around and anyone stuck in conversation with an Angel often finds themselves either on the edge of fright or hanging on the edge of the Angel's every word.
Aaenshi Adventurers
Angels favor the Paladin, Warlord and Cleric classes. Two sample Angel adventurers are described below.
Avengelyne is an angel warlord. She was a feared warrior in Elysium, having single-handedly broken into the outer fortress of the Nine Hells, to confront the devils there. She questioned Pelor's love for humans, so was banished to the material realm and stripped of her abilities. Although he appeared truly angry, Pelor was trying to prepare Avengelyne for a coming war for which she would need to be strengthened.
Gideon is an angel cleric. He is the teacher at a magical school, and concerns himself with spotting the seeds of evil in his pupils. He is compelled to don his adventuring gear when one student flees the school under what he considers to be demonic influence
