Homebrew Dhampir Species Details
Every so often, a master vampire will deign a human host to be worthy enough of their attention that, without turning the humanoid lover into a vampire, they will bear a child with that humanoid. These half-humanoid, half-vampire creatures are known as “Dhampir.”
Blood of a Monster
Dhampir maintain the appearance of their parents, much like a normal child. However, they will often have distinctive vampiric characteristics. White hair, pallid skin, pale red eyes, and abnormally sharp canine teeth or fingernails can all be indicative of a dhampir.
Hidden in Plain Sight
Dhampir are exceptionally rare, to the point that many people are not even aware that they exist. They do not possess the vampire’s weakness to sunlight, nor any of the other standard vampiric weaknesses, but they also lose the immortality and agelessness that comes from true vampirism. Some Dhampir crave the power that comes with completing the transformation into a true vampire, while others seek to remove the monstrous blood from their veins. However, all Dhampir tend to be treated with distrust and fear, regardless of how much they try to prove to the members of their community that they are not the monsters that they fear.
Dhampir Names
Dhampir utilize the naming convention of whatever society they grow up in, but most Dhampir give up the names given to them by society in favor of a name that signifies a virtue or trait that is important to them.

When you choose this race for your character, choose between Tear Vitality and Sap Vitality. If you would make an Unarmed Strike, you can instead attack with your chosen feature.
Tear Vitality - As an action, you rip the life out of an enemy by force, ripping into them with your monstrous canines and rending the very life from their forms. If you hit with this attack, it deals 1d8 + your Strength modifier Piercing damage, and you recover HP equal to 1d4 + the target’s Constitution modifier. If you hit an undead or construct with this feature, you do not regain HP.
Sap Vitality - As an action, you strike at the core of your opponent’s being with elegance and grace, absorbing their essence into your own with precision strikes of your naturally-sharp fingernails. If you hit with this attack, it deals 1d6 + your Dexterity modifier Slashing damage, and you recover HP equal to the target’s Constitution modifier. If you hit an undead or construct with this feature, you do not regain HP.
