Homebrew Yukkuri (Race Ver) Species Details

Yukkuris are mysterious lifeforms. They have the biology of a dessert, yet capable of thoughts and emotions. Many humanoid races have taken a liking to killing them for no reason, regardless of alignment. Despite all this, yukkuris have great adaptability that ensures they can live on.

Lamarckian Genetics

A parent yukkuri's memories and skills are always passed on into their children. If the parent is driven out of a sweets shop, then the child will know to avoid that sweet shop. If a parent has seen another yukkuri dissolve in water, the child will know to avoid touching water.

Clanning

Most yukkuris live with their own families, but several families can come together to form a clan, lead by the largest yukkuri of all of them. (Size means wisdom - the largest usually lived for a long time!)

Yukkuri Names

Yukkuris mostly refers to themselves by the person they're based on and nothing else, though young individuals may have "ko- before their name. If a yukkuri is based on Vecna then they must be referred to as Vecna, even though this would be considered blasphemous to Vecna's clerics.

When making a yukkuri, you get to increase any Ability Score by one.

Age

Yukkuris don't like very long, with most reaching maturity at 3 months, living to 2 years. Hardy individuals may get to live to 5 years. In killer infested areas, some yukkuris die before they are even born, so a yukkuri character in urban settings are considered lucky.

Alignment

Yukkuris tend to keep to themselves, but capable of trusting people as long as you don't try to kill them. Most yukkuris are neutral to represent this survival instinct and trustworthiness, though urban yukkuri are perceived as evil to justify the mindless killing.

Size

Yukkuris are small creatures, with most matured individuals being the size of a medium sized sports ball. Their size allows them to hide in small spaces.

Speed

Yukkuris are small creatures, hence they can't hop very far. Their hopping speed averages to 20 ft.

Dessert Biology

Having a dessert like biology, you have the following boons and weaknesses.

• Injuries don't need healing spells. Broken skin can be fixed with flour dough; Orange juice is seen as an all-healing potion.
• Being sugar based, prolonged exposure to water and moistness (rain, humidity) can lead to dissolving of the body, unless you're in the Aquatic subrace.
