Homebrew Alterian Species Details

When the Twist enveloped Leefside The remaining survivors found a cave opening and fled to the area below for safety. These people and the animal life they brought down with them were affected by the twist in a very bizarre way. Instead of physically altering them immediately they were all given a gene that allowed them to quickly evolve and adapt to their new habitat of cave systems.

Alterian Traits

Their most important evolution was their tail with a bone at the end. Alterians can use their tail to tap the ground to echolocate the area around them.

Echolocate

The echolocation works as blindsight. Whenever you want to echolocate you roll a perception check with a dc of 10. You roll this check with advantage when you are in dim or dark light. on a successful check, you will be able to see the outlines of items inside boxes or things beyond wooden doors within 25 feet of you.

bone claws

Alterian's skin stops at their fingertips and leaves their bones exposed. while this is used to help scale cave walls they can also be used to fend off enemies.
