Homebrew CHOZO Species Details

Hidden away and unknown to humans are an ancient bird-like race.  The Chozo were (and still are) a wise old race that few were even aware of.  It is unclear if this is due to them sealing themselves off from the universe or that there were very little traces of their existence has been found.  Another popular theory is that there was a great plague/poison that threatened extinction.

At one time the Chozo were war-like in nature striving to best any other. Over time the Chozo learned and perfected techniques and technology, and therefore the Chozo found ways to balance Spiritual/Mysticism with Technology.  This made the Chozo great sages, war-priests, and shamans.  Overtime a fraction of the race gravitated towards sage-like pursuits as opposed to their innate warrior instincts.  The Thoha tribe lead the other tribes to this new way.

One tribe, the Mawkin refused this new path and hungered for perfection and superiority. This created a schism between to major tribes: the Mawkin and the Thoha.  Honor dictated blood to not be shed despite this disagreement.

Centuries passed and the race seemed lost leaving only statues and script.  Tech and secrets were either lost or stolen without further researched.

In recent years evidence of the Chozo surfaced.  Theorists believe that the Chozo were able to hibernate through becoming Stone.
