Homebrew Slime Species Details

The slimes can range in color from blue to green, and occasionally pink. They feel smooth but damp to the touch. Slimes are able to change their shape and color at will, and have no assigned gender. Slimes do not age, and reproduce asexually. A slime can consume water to grow in size at a rate of 1 foot per cubic feet of water, but without it can reach a maximum of 6 feet in height.

Slime Traits

Slimes can willingly change shape and absorb water

Absorption

A slime can absorb water up to 20 cubic feet to grow at a rate of 1 foot per cubic foot of water. Outside of combat, this effect can last up to 1 hour and gives advantage on checks and saving throws requiring strength, but gives disadvantage to checks requiring dexterity. In combat, this gives a +2 to strength and a - 2 to dexterity. This effect lasts 5 turns in combat

Fall Damage Immunity

Slimes are able to absorb impact from falling and disperse it so that they take little to no damage

Shape Change

Once per long rest, a Slime can choose to take a different humanoid form. This form must be no taller than 6 feet unless there is at least 1 cubic foot of water nearby, in which case they can grow up to be 8 feet tall. This form can also be no smaller than 2 feet tall. Slimes can also temporarily shrink down to the size of 3 cubic inches, they can assume this form for no longer than an hour before returning to their most recent humanoid form. If contained during this time, the Slime must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On success, they destroy their container if it is non-magical. On a failure or in the case of magical containment, the slime takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage every hour they spend contained.

Endurance

Slimes have naturally high physical endurance, granting them a +2 to Constitution.

Slippery

Slimes are naturally very slippery, granting them a +1 to Dexterity.
