Homebrew Chardalyn Dragonborn Species Details

You are a humanoid recreation of a Chardalyn Dragon, and as such many of your features mimic the that of the Chardalyn Dragon.

Chardalyn Dragonborn Traits

As a humanoid recreation of a Chardalyn Dragon, you gain the following features

Ability Score Increase

You increase one of your ability scores by 2, and increase another ability score by 1.

Age

Typically, Chardalyn Dragonborns are between 2 and 30 years old, but the maximum lifespan remains a mystery. You are immune to magical effects that would affect your age.

Alignment

Typically, Chardalyn Dragonborns reflect the alignment of the beings they are based off of, chaos and evil. However, there have been some who have changed alignment due to the actions of those around them.

Size

Your size is Medium. To set your height and weight randomly, start with rolling a size modifier:

Size modifier = 2d6

Height = 5 feet + 10 inches + your size modifier in inches

Weight in pounds = 270 + (4 × your size modifier)

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Constructed Resilience

You were created to have remarkable fortitude, represented by the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance to poison damage.
  • You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.
  • You are immune to disease.
  • You don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Armored Casing

You have a thin layer of metal protecting you. While not wearing armor, your AC is equal to 13 plus your Dexterity modifier.

Languages

You can read, write, and speak Common and another language of your choice.

Radiant Breath

You are resistant to radiant damage.
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation of magical energy in a 15-foot line, 5 feet wide. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the creature takes 1d10 radiant damage. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage. This damage increases by 1d10 when you reach 5th level (2d10), 11th level (3d10), and 17th level (4d10).

You can use your Radiant Breath a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
