Homebrew Wildkin Species Details

The wildkin are serene, powerful creatures, thought by the druids to have been owlbears awakened long ago by the moon goddess Selûne. They resemble a cross between a bear, an owl, and an elk, which explains both their wisdom and ferocity. They act as a powerful force for good and a staunch ally of druids. While good-tempered and wise, the wildkin fights fiercely against evildoers.

These feathered creatures go by the names wildkin, moonkin, or owlkin. Gentle giants possessing a natural energy similar to that of druids, wildkin are inherently magical; this power was bestowed upon them by the moon goddess Selûne. However if Selûne's influence over them wanes or is cut off, wildkin can become dangerous.

These owl-faced humanoids are considered an abomination by most due to their connection to owlbears, but actually find favor with druids. The wildkin have long been considered sacred by the druids. Priestesses of the moon see the wildkin as imbued with the spirit and strength of the moon goddess, and the druids see them as guardians and protectors of nature. Wildkin lay eggs rather than give live birth.

They are capable of speaking Common and Sylvan. Despite having wings, they are unable to fly. They can however slow their descent by flapping their wings.
