Homebrew Wendigo Species Details

With an antlered bony face, long arms like an orangutan, with sharp claws at the end, a skinny, bloodied, smokey humanoid body, and their musky thick fur, they are a real fright.  they have an aura of coldness, and a glare that pierces even the thickest of plate armour to strike fear. bones can be seen in patches with the flow of a smoke like substance across their body and it can be seen to be cracked broken being held together by this smoke surrounding them.

some say they are becoming one with nature, and following their primal instincts, letting blood lust take over their senses as they feed and morph into such a beast, but they are quite civilized similar to a awakened animal, they know how to communicate and wield weapons, they have their own society where they can be seen making trades between each others territories for food, shelter, or land.  they are seen in society also, in towns and villages they will be spotted inside the town not as an aggressor but as a citizen, they continue to feed through the consumption of the nearby bandits, orc tribe, gnolls, goblins, etc. whatever is close that isn't the town, when their town is attacked, they are seen to be very aggressive towards their aggressors, getting on all fours and going into a rage filled bloodlust for whomever is stupid enough to attack their town and kill their fellow villagers, ripping through the battlefield like the wild beast they are though to be, their claws cutting their opponents to shreds like a knife through butter, their teeth like a shredder of flesh, and then after everything is done wether they be dead, or they live and saved the town they return to them normal selves, and that is how they gain the trust of villagers.

it is not known how the wendigos came to be so they are very sought after for research by wizards and other similar associations, how they never seem to age, how they how a roar that strike fear in the most veteran of warriors, how they are unaffected by cold environments, how they are able to mock other voices they here almost exactly, to a point where you would need magic to tell the difference, and how their smoky body seems to shape them into whatever they desire, whether that be a wolf, bear, deer, fox, or whatever ground based four legged creature of the forest
