Homebrew Caelie Species Details

Caelie are a species of halfling but they have some large differences to their land dwelling relatives. Caelie they have hollow bones and small bird like wings protruding from the sides of their feet. Caelie reside on the floating continents that circle the known world. Because the grand sorcerers of the Caelie disguise their landmasses with cloud cover it is widely believed that they live in the clouds themselves. The average weight of a fully grown Caelie is about 9kgs or 20 pounds (this is because of their hollow bones). The average height is around 2ft 10 or 0.86 meters. Caelie live around twice as long as their halfling relatives which is almost five centuries. Becasue of their strong secretive nature, all Caelie learn the halfling language at a young age, they also make sure to wear shoes which hide their wings. When on the surface Caelie masquerade as halflings, this is generally for espionage reasons and also just to hide the secrets of their species. 

 

Caelie have skin colour ranging from pale to dark, this is because Caelie can be found all over the known world. The eye colours of Caelie are generally pale and are usually the same as their wing colour. Hair colors range from white, blonde to brown and black.

Most Caelie are chaotic netrual. As a rule, they dislike the right wing, hate to see others in pain, and have no tolerance for oppression. They are not very orderly or traditional and rejoice in social democracy, free health care and education

Caelie  average about 2 feet tall 10 inches and weigh about 20 pounds. Your size is Small. ( the small weight is because of their hollow bones

Your base walking speed is 25 feet. Base flying speed is 30 feet

When you roll a 1 on the d20 for an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll.

You can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than yours.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Halfling and Caelie. The Caelie language is mostly secret, and Caelie are loath to share it with others. They have a rich literature culture, unlike that of halflings. Almost all Caelie  speak Common and Halfling to converse with the people in whose lands they dwell or through which they are traveling and to disguise themselves as halflings.
