Homebrew Beefolk Species Details

In the vast forests of various realms, the beefolk make their livings, in hives and hotels, in nomadic groups and lone wandering. They cherish the life of the forest, and the nature around them, and activity strive to help pollination, where they can. Whereas those in colonies may require a sense of community and order, many wanderers value their privacy, and autonomy.

Nature's Revengers-

Beefolk have a smooth, curved carapace, covered in white fur. Their ears are slightly pointed, and their skin ranges in coloration from various shades of yellow to orange. Their hair is naturally fluffy, and is typically colored in shades of white or grey. They posses four arms, with the secondary set being slightly smaller in scale. They have a smaller, secondary set of eyes positioned over their normal eyes, appearing more like eyebrows than anything else. They possess structured, opalescent wings, although they are not larger enough to allow for flight.

Despite their small size, they can carry and lift extraordinary amounts, inspiring shock and awe in members of other races. There is a large amount of females as opposed to males, although they have the unique ability to change their sex in a matter of months. Additionally, the have black or brown stripes crossing their torso and legs.

Affinity for Nature

Beefolk have an affinity for the natural world, and it's rare to see them outside of a forest unless traveling. Those who abandon the wild in favor of city living still share the base instincts of their brethren, often caring for a large number of plants and spreading their pollen, and frequently taking up jobs as carpenters or farmers.

Beefolk celebrate life and change, and a good harvest is always cause for festivities. Those living in colonies have a strong sense of community, and have a mutual level of care between both queen and citizen. They feel a close kinship with wild animals, perhaps because of their own insectoid qualities, and often aid other pollinators, guiding them back to their homes and caring for injured ones.

Colonies and Community

Beefolk sense the interconnectedness of the natural world. Thus, they understand and appreciate their place in the ecosystem, and vehemently oppose those who disrupt the natural goings-on of the environment. Beefolk possess a strong sense of family and community, and are fiercely loyal to their individual communities and queens. Because of this, they may be reluctant to let a fellow beefolk leave the colony, and wander alone, but are nonetheless supportive, often holding lavish farewell parties for those who choose to leave.

Beefolk Names

The names of individual beefolk are typically chosen by the queen that fostered them. The name bestowed on a new larvae is typically the name of a flower — oftentimes one that bloomed on the day of the larvae's hatching. Beefolk don’t use family names, instead electing to use their queen's name as their surname.
